Due to the emergence of the SARS virus and so
many other viruses...the old practice of holding hands during Mass,
while singing the "Lord's Prayer" or "Ama Namin" has been discouraged...
only those related to each other are seen doing it now.....
Well during yesterday's Mass....
a small boy with Down Syndrome seated in front of me.....refused to
hold his companion's hand during the singing of "The Ama
Namin"...instead,
he reached out to me and gave me his hand...
and we held each other while singing "The Ama Namin"....
we may have been strangers to each other...
but we, both of us...were God's children....and we prayed to Our Father.
