THE STENCH OF FEAR....

I caught the last part of yesterday's impeachment trial....and what was very obvious is that more importance was being given to the distinct possibility that any Senator can be investigated with the same vigor by the Ombudsman, going as far as asking AMLC for help and information. Their stand is that the administration may use the power and the position of the Ombudsman to go against, or to threaten, it's political opponents.....

Were they really just scared for those who would oppose the administration or were they were more scared that someone might asked the ombudsman to look into their assets as well....and when Bongong Marcos started airing the same concerns ....THE STENCH OF FEAR WAS OVERWHELMING!

Well as far as going after political opponents....there may actually be some legitimacy to this apprehension by the Senators....but 2 points...first, I trust the present Ombudsman, that she will not gamble away 40 years of spotless and unquestionable government service,....2nd, in the end if there is nothing to hide, nothing can be found....there is confidence in honesty that obliterates the fear.......

Our dear Senators have been investigating people for so long, often times berating them and making them look like fools. Most of the time these investigations are about theft or corruption.....

if any investigator, or senator, for that matter, can ever hope for moral ascendancy to make such investigations.....the senator should be able to proudly declare that he or she has never been involved in any form of graft and corruption.....

They will of course claim to be clean....but I dare our Senators to couple this claim with a brave move that may eradicate all suspicions.....

join Senator Lacson and co-author a bill that compels all public officials esp. the Senators, the Congressmen, and the Justices, to wave their rights to the "Bank Secrecy Law."

I also ask that when this law is put on their table for deliberation, that said deliberation be made public, so that we may know who among the Senators or the Congressmen have something to hide and therefore something to fear.......

for the longest time these Senators and Congressmen have appeared so high and so mighty that they have treated witnesses shabbily.....belittling them, yelling at them and insulting them, with wanton disregard for the feelings and the rights of the witness.......

If they persist to demand that they be treated almost like gods....then we should demand that they offer proof of their worthiness, remove all our doubts.....make a sincere move to prove their honesty, their transparency and their loyalty to the their oath....to the republic and to us!

Time for us to make demands from these people.

God bless the Philippines! God help the Filipinos!
