THE DEFINITION OF A FILIPINO

I was beaming with pride as I was reading the bravery and resourcefulness of the Filipino Nurse working in the sates, who saved so many babies from sure death. We as a nation should be defined by such persons

We should be defined by janitors who return bags of money left at the rest room.

We should be defined by taxi drivers who return valuables and money left in their taxi cabs.

We should be defined by teachers who walk far distances just to be able to teach small children in very rural provinces, for a very small almost negligent salary.

We should be defined by the small boy who upon hearing his parents talk about choosing honesty and dignity over being rich....decided to return a bag full of money he saw near the garbage dump.

We should never be identified with politicians who after years of stealing, lying and cheating.....will pass on the same qualities and even train their children to do the same....

We are still a country primarily known for having citizens who are hospitable, warm, friendly, honest...and most of all....of this I am also very proud......prayerful and deeply religious.

We should not do things or enact laws just because other countries are doing it...we should be proud of being of who we are...our culture, our customs...our beliefs.

I am proud of who I am...and I love being a Filipino!

God bless all Filipinos....may the coming elections be another chance for us to choose better....to vote for candidates who can best define what being a Filipino is all about!
