EVERYBODY DESERVES A BREAK
A few days before Christmas, my parents got mad at our help and at me....the help, for wanting to take a day-off on Christmas, and me, for allowing them to.
My parents were angry because they give a party for our relatives every Christmas, so family members could see each other....
This was precisely my point when I gave our help the day-off....people should be with their family on Christmas, regardless of what their job is.
My relatives were all able to come because they didn't have to go their offices on Christmas day, so who's to say our help shouldn't be accorded the same courtesy. They deserve a break too! I dare anybody to tell me that I'm wrong!
Kung tayo napapagod.... Sila pa kaya, na umaga pa lang inuutusan na... Tapos hanggang gabi basta gising ang amo, puedeng utusan pa rin...when I make midnight snacks for my family, I don't wake up or disturb our help, my wife and I would wash everything we used and clean up the kitchen after we're finished.... If they're awake, we share the food with them....we treat them as friends who just happen to work for us.
Today our family driver of 40 years asked my wife Dinah if he can leave early, because his kids just called him up and they might go somewhere... Niccolo had plans to use his gift certificates today, so we asked Niccolo....this is what he said..." Let Mang Bhoy join his kids, mas importante yan sa lakad ko."... And that is just one of the reasons why I am proud of my son.
It's all about equality....
Our household helps work for us, because their family needs the money.....we work everyday, for the same reason....so we should not look down on them, nor should we expect too much from them....and we should always respect them, as we would want them to respect us....and please be kind to them!
God bless all of the kasambahays and yayas, and thank you for everything!
God bless all of us!
